THIRD ANNUAL REPORT  FOR THE YEAR 2019- 20

Genesis:

In the year 2017 when Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Retired Employees Association, Bangalore chapter completed 15 years of its existence, a few members of the Association felt the need to extend its activities to the academic field and build a forum through which we can reach out and get involved with local schools and assist them in improving the quality of education offered by them. The idea was also mooted with the intention of helping the members of the Association who have acquired sufficient knowledge and vast experience in the areas of educational policies, pedagogical strategies, teacher training and school administration, to be creatively engaged and continue in the educational field. Many of our members grabbed the idea since they were already functioning as free lance teacher-trainers, academic consultants and academic directors in different schools in Karnataka. Their initiative to put to use their expertise in the above areas as well as to extend a helping hand to various schools in improving the quality of teachers and schools in general led to the idea of setting up an Educational Academy.

During subsequent Executive Committee Meetings it was decided to start Kendriya Vidyalaya Retired Employees’ Educational Academy abbreviated as KVS-REEDAC, with its Regd Office at # 23,  Sai Nilayam, Sathyam Street, II Cross, Munnekolala, Marathahalli P.O. Bangalore-560037.

No doubt, big strides should follow in the years to come. Towards this goal, we solicit the cooperation of all the faculty members to enrol new members as faculty, identify schools which need the assistance of the Academy and share your ideas for taking up new activities by the Academy.

Let me hope that KVS REEDAC Bangalore will lead the way in purposefully engaging retirees of KVS to make a small difference in the way local schools are run by transferring the skills we have acquired through our vast experience from our mother organisation KVS- the Pace Setting Organisation in School Education!!!
